Dr Kaylee Jordan graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery with First Class Honours in 2010, and commenced anaesthetic specialist training in Tasmania in 2014. She was awarded the Renton Prize, as the registrar with the highest marks across Australia and New Zealand, in the primary anaesthetic examinations in 2015, and was one of a few Merit prize recipients nationally for her performance in the final anaesthetic examinations in 2017. Her fellowship year was completed at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and University Hospital Geelong. Since then, she has been working as a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, along with private practice in various hospitals in Melbourne.
She has a special interest in education, and is heavily involved in exam preparation for anaesthetic registrars planning to sit their primary and final examinations. She is Deputy Chair of the Australian Society of Anaesthesia’s (ASA) Education Committee, and is the ASA Victorian Education Officer. She is also a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists’ (ANZCA) Victorian Regional Committee. She was co-convenor of the 2021 Melbourne Winter Anaesthetic Meeting and is workshop coordinator for the 2023 ASA National Scientific Congress. She is experienced in a wide range of surgical specialties, with particular interests in neurosurgery (including complex spinal surgery), general, colorectal, plastic and orthopaedic surgery and perioperative medicine. She places a strong emphasis on ensuring that her patients feel safe and comfortable throughout their time in her care.
Until recently, areas of interest outside of work included marathon training, camping, spending time with family on King Island and mainland Tasmania, and going on adventures on the boat she lived on for 7 years. With a toddler and baby at home these days, these activities have temporarily become a distant memory!
